Unlock the value of scanned drawings and maps, aerial photos, satellite imagery, and digital elevation models using Autodesk® Raster Design 2006. Raster Design 2006 integrates with all AutoCAD® 2006Ðbased applications to provide advanced vectorization, raster editing, and analysis tools. Improve decision making and enhance presentations while making the most of your data.

  • An editing, image-processing, and analyzing tool that works inside AutoCAD and AutoCAD based software
  • Integrate your vector and raster project data using a wide variety of industry-standard image file formats
  • Convert project data on paper drawings and maps into digital content, quickly, efficiently , and accurately
  • Make updates or revisions to specific areas of an raster image without having to convert the entire drawing to raster
  • Convert raster data to vector while retaining the original accuracy in the raster drawing
  • Use comprehensive image processing tools within the AutoCAD environment to correct, enhance and bring out the drawing details in your poor quality scans
  • Analyze specific types of raster data including satellite imagery to support or aid in better decision making
  • Deploy a single AutoCAD-based imaging solution to handle all your imaging, raster cleanup and conversion processes
  • Single-user license

Overview :

Make the Most of Your Image Archive
Extend the value of your raster data using Autodesk® Raster DesignÕs raster editing, manipulation, and vectorization tools, all in the AutoCAD® environment. Add scanned paper drawings, maps, aerial photographs, satellite images, and other forms of raster data to projects, and enhance image quality with powerful, new cleanup tools. Save editing time by vectorizing only those raster entities that require modification.

Make Better Decisions Through Image Analysis
Autodesk Raster Design helps you make better-informed decisions for land use planning, site suitability, environmental impact studies, and more by enabling you to extract useful information from many types of raster imagery. View and analyze data with color maps or by querying for elevations, slopes, aspects, and reflectance values. Prepare your raster data for effective use through rubbersheeting, transformations, and other editing tools.

Communicate Ideas Precisely and Effectively
Create compelling presentations that combine information-rich raster images and intelligent vector drawings. Present proposals and internal communications that integrate maps, satellite data, and other forms of imagery. Share design and analysis findings with a high degree of specificity, and provide detailed graphical representations that speed project approvals.

Features :

  • Image Capture Feature—New
Create a TIFF format snapshot of color-mapped imagery at the same insertion point and scale as the original. Extend the use of your digital elevation model (DEM) or multispectral data analysis so your results can be used in other applications such as Microsoft® Word and PowerPoint® programs, and AutoCAD® software. Use the snapshot to produce Òwhat-ifÓ scenarios and enhance your presentations.
  • Touchup Tool—New
A Paint-style drawing tool with multiple resizable brushes that paints in either foreground or background image color. Reduce your time and effort in cleaning up scanned drawings and maps.
  • Edit and Save Multispectral Imagery and DEMs—New
Transform multispectral and DEM data from their native coordinate systems to yours when you use a Autodesk Map® 3D-based platform. Crop these images to conform to your project area. Merge images to cover larger areas with a single image. Change image density to handle images more efficiently. Save time by adapting multispectral and DEM data to match your coordinate system. Make easier use of large multispectral images by reducing them to cover just the area you need for your project.
  • Raster Entity Extend, Trim, and Offset Operations—New
Extend and trim REM entities to each other, as well as to AutoCAD entities. Create offset REM entities from existing raster entities. Save time and effort to clean up scanned drawings and maps. This feature is easy to use since it works like the corresponding AutoCAD command.
  • Raster Entity Fillet—New
Create fillets between REM entities. Improve efficiency and save time with automated tools to convert this common geometry found in numerous mechanical and schematic drawings.
  • Save DEM files—New
Save the result of your edits or coordinate transformations on DEM data in GeoTIFF or DEM format. Minimize repetitive processing and editing of your multispectral images and DEMs. You can now save DEMs using any GeoTIFF-supported coordinate system.
  • Save Images in GeoTIFF format—New
Save multispectral and other images in GeoTIFF format to preserve correlation and coordinate system information outside AutoCAD. Move imagery between applications using industry-standard methods. Retain complete georeferenced information that remains tied to the image data. Reuse multispectral imagery that has undergone edits or a coordinate transform.
  •  Raster Data Point Query feature—New
Retrieve pixel values from multispectral imagery, DEMs, and other image types. Use the data contained in your raster images to determine underlying data values for such things as reflectance, elevation, slope, aspect, and current display color values. Avoid multiple trips to the field by getting the answers you need from the imagery. Dynamically ÒseeÓ raster data values as you draw AutoCAD geometry over an image.
  • Save to JPG 2000—New
Save your images to JPG 2000 format. Decrease the size of your files without compromising visual image quality by taking advantage of the high compression ratio of the JPG 2000 image format. Use industry-standard JPG 2000 in addition to the very popular LizardTechª MrSID® and ECW formats.
