For over 10 years, HyperStudio has been the de facto standard classroom multimedia authoring program. The first major release in over five years, HyperStudio 4 represents the next level in desktop and online multimedia communications for educators and students. - Drag and Drop
- HyperStudio 4 supports drag and drop development! You can now click and drag any element supported by HyperStudio directly onto a card! Drag images from websites or from your hard drive or content CDs. Keyboard modifiers allow you to choose whether the image is a background, graphic object, clipart or automatically choose a transparent color. Drag a movie or sound onto a card and it automatically attaches itself as a card action. Drag an animated GIF onto a card and you are automatically in path creation mode. Create a text object and drag text directly into it. Very fast and very easy for even the most novice computer user yet all the previous methods for importing elements are still there. Using HyperStudio has never been easier. Even more amazing is that drag and drop works both ways! HyperStudio elements such as text and graphic objects, buttons, etc. can be dragged from a stack to another location on your hard drive or file server. With HyperStudio 4, you can now create reusable components for rapid prototyping and collaborative projects
- Integrated Media Library Browser
- A new "Show Media Window" option now appears under the Options menu. This option also available via a keyboard command, causes a dialog to appear that maps the contents of the Media Library folder in the HyperStudio folder. All folders and their files appear in a drop down list which can be dragged right onto a card. Further, unique HyperStudio objects like buttons, text and graphics can be dragged from a stack into the Media Window. Great for storing commonly used objects and sharing them with others. Free copyright-friendly media and HS4 objects are available from the HyperStudio Library.
- Curriculum Content Library
- The entire Media Library has been revised, reorganized and upgraded to include a wide array of higher grade backgrounds, clip art and sounds. This new media resource has been categorized by both content type and curriculum focus. Adding content folders from the CD-ROM to your Media Library Browser is as simple as drag and drop. In addition, a Ready Made Card allows browsing of the Content Library images right from within your stack as an additional alternative to accessing content while building projects. Last but not least, HyperStudio 4 includes 25 terrific new cross-platform fonts designed with stack development in mind. View the Content Library PDF located in the HyperStudio Library!
- Internet Enhancements
- The Netpage NBA has been updated to support default browser settings and integrated as the "Go To URL" option in the Actions "Things to Do" dialog. Also, when entering a valid URL into a HyperStudio text object, it automatically becomes a "hot" link. This new "Auto URL" links your stacks to the web quicker than ever! Even more amazing is that the HyperStudio Plug-in is now built upon the full development version of HyperStudio 4. This next generation plug-in is compatible with HyperStudio stacks built with 3.0 or above and will allow you to create and share stacks that others can interact with and even edit right within their web browser - all without them owning HyperStudio!
- Ready Made Cards Enhanced
- The Ready Made Card function now allows importing of stacks - not just a single card! This is a great way to manage multiple stacks and easily append them. In addition, the Ready Made Card folder supports subfolders and aliases providing enhanced project management support. What's more, HyperStudio 4 includes over a dozen brand new Ready Made Cards to inspire your students and save you time. These include: An MLA-compliant Bibliography, Lab Report, Movie Player, News Report, Open House, Presenter, Story Book, Content Library Web Search and more.
- HyperLogo Enhancements - "Click Programming"
- HyperLogo, based upon the Logo programming language, greatly extends HyperStudio's capabilities. Along with upgrading the Reference Manual and Tutorials, we've made it even easier to learn the essentials of good programming design and implementation by providing an interactive "click programming" environment for HyperLogo scripting. If you've never before tackled HyperLogo or any programming language, HyperStudio 4's Click Programming is a great way to start. Also includes new and extensive, context sensitive help.
- Stack-To-Go
- Another exciting new feature of HyperStudio 4 is the capability to save a stack as a stand-alone program. Stack-To-Go allows you to save your stack without any dependence on external files (movies, disk-based images, text, sound etc.). You can now share your projects with others using your platform without having to provide a separate player. - Documentation and Online Help
- Along with receiving a Hybrid CD, for the first time a Teacher's Guide is included, packed with curriculum-based lessons and projects for teachers and students. You will also find the HyperStudio correlation to ISTE's National Education Technology Standards, helpful tips on integrating technology into the classroom and many support resources. A full compliment of media and "starter" stacks are included on the Program CD-ROM. A completely new User Guide, Reference Manual, HyperLogo Reference and Tutorial Manual are available in printed form as well as PDF format. All documents are included on the program CD-ROM and available for download in the HyperStudio Library.
- Morph 2.5 Included!
- This popular digital video creation program is bundled with HyperStudio 4 at no extra charge! With Morph, you can create QuickTime or AVI movies that smoothly transition from one object or image to another resulting in "mild-to-totally-wild" effects. Plus, with Morph, you can create warping and caricature effects of still images or create dynamic morphs between two digital movies. The resulting movies are easily imported into HyperStudio projects.
